Honor: Enjoying Differences

a image of community

I believe one key to honor is enjoying and relishing in each others differences! I think when we engage in another’s belief not for the sake of arguing with the individual but to really listen and learn from them, that’s when we honor them.

Honor can be demonstrated in our words, actions, and even our hearts attitudes. When we engage people for the sake of learning about their hearts and relishing their stories our “differences,” “doctrines,” and “demons” all get put aside as we lean in and learn. This is huge! Let’s be life long learners!

I don’t want “honor” to dim down our passion or our beliefs, what I’m aiming at is a foundation block for us to build on. If honor is our foundation, then we won’t let our strengths or passions become our greatest stumbling blocks. Instead we will yeild and learn from others.

As artists, mystics, and innovators we must yield to this. We must understand that if we believe, “We have it all figured out, or WE have the best way,” then we have been mislead. No one has the best way! We are in this together. We are all Father God’s kids, so let’s stay child-like in the realms of mystery and faith, but grow up in our hearts and learn to honor!
