Like it was in Eden

Like it was in Eden

As I sit on my bed, my thoughts drift to you again and

I find myself lost in your Presence—tangled in your arms, like the wind in the trees.

Ecstasy, it’s You I see.

In a world of wonder,

I am a child spinning and dancing in countless adventure.

I feel you press into me

with warmth you whisper,

“You are my happy thought, the joy set before me.”

Your voice, and the squeeze of your hand reminds me

 and I am awakened

to something ancient yet altogether new

Like a window opening

the light floods in

the memories rush to me

I remember who I was

The innocent laughter we had

as we played over all you created

where angels rode on dawn’s first light

when the stars were young and their songs were sung

a photo of night sky

We are walking again where Eden once was

The Garden of my heart has been restored

Where the words of your lips fall like rain

While you blow kisses like cherry blossoms in the wind

Slowly I lean back to you,

Breathing you in

Here nature’s song is pure

As she sings only in celebration

a photo of lightning on beach

And the praising angels glow like lightning bugs

And freedom comes to me like spring after a long winter,

I breathe in again

Wild we run, racing the wind and water

The trees turn their heads and let loose leaves like laughter to chase us down

a photo of fall trees in the wind

Joy has enraptured us

We are Alive

I (Jimmy) first wrote this during my second year at BSSM in Redding, California in the Spring of 2010. It’s in response to the Phil Wickham song, Eden Unparalleled Addiction sang at a New Mystic Conference in Arcada, California with John Crowder and all the other space cadets of glory!
