This jar is a expression of the playful creativity and creative process the Holy Happy Spirit leads us in!!! This jar was a commission piece for Kasey Leisinger, expressing the heart of a creative and the animated, free personality of God that she bears. (click on photos to enlarge)
Some of the depth of this jar can be found in a ancient Hebraic proverb of the Spirit of Wisdom speaking about the dawn of creation:
Then I was by him, [as] one brought up [with him]: and I was daily [his] delight, rejoicing always before him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights [were] with the sons of men. (KJV).
The word for rejoiced is the Hebraic word for laughter sachaq (which is actually written to express the sound of laughter). This word means to play, to make sport, to jest, to joke. So the “SPIRIT OF WISDOM” was playing, frolicking, goofing around, and poking fun with the Creator as He made men and women and the natural world we live in. Wow! This world was born into laughter. How would this change church, religion, music, worship, expression, art, if we realized that the very Creator himself was laughing and enjoying himself, not taking anything too serious, oh boy, that’s gonna blow some people through the roof!
Let’s read this again,
I (Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Wisdom) was with him (Creator) then, his foster child (master craftsman), I was his delight day after day, playing in his presence constantly playing here and there all over his world, finding my delight in human kind. (James Moffatt rendering of Proverbs 8:30 & 31).
This is our invitation to portray the animated laughter of King and Court in the our life and creativity!
